Cruise to Catalina: sailing, snorkeling, and comfort on board
Embark on an unforgettable day at sea, combining the joy of sailing, underwater exploration, and relaxation. Aboard our spacious and comfortable catamaran, enjoy an exclusive setting, far from the mass excursions, for a more intimate and relaxing experience. This is not a party boat: it’s a true peaceful cruise, where every moment on board is designed for your well-being. The boat is equipped with solar panels to limit its environmental impact, cabins, two toilets for passengers, and a large sun deck to relax during the crossing.
After about an hour of sailing, you’ll reach one of the most spectacular sites in the Dominican Republic: the famous Catalina Wall.
An iconic dive site steeped in history, the Catalina Wall, also known as “The Wall,” is one of the most famous dive spots in the Caribbean. This abrupt reef dramatically plunges into the ocean depths, forming an impressive vertical wall that starts a few meters below the surface and drops over 100 meters deep. The site is rich in biodiversity: colorful corals, schools of tropical fish, rays, moray eels, and sometimes even turtles may cross your path. But what makes this site truly unique is its history. It is said that Jacques-Yves Cousteau explored these seabeds in the 1970s, fascinated by their beauty and exceptional biodiversity. Nearby, several shipwrecks also speak to the strategic importance of this area during colonial times. Today, the site is a sanctuary for sea and diving lovers, a place where nature and history meet beneath the waves.

Explore the Aquarium, an underwater gem of the Caribbean
After this first dive at the Wall, we continue to a second snorkeling site just as impressive: the Aquarium. As its name suggests, this vibrant reef teeming with life—parrotfish, sergeant majors, angelfish, fan corals—is a true natural spectacle that amazes with every flutter of a fin. Our specialized guide will accompany you at all times to safely reveal the secrets of this exceptional underwater world.
Back on board, a delicious meal of fresh local products will be served in a friendly atmosphere. Then, enjoy some free time on Catalina Island: relax on a white sandy beach lined with palm trees, swim in turquoise waters, or simply unwind aboard the catamaran.
An ideal beach escape to fully experience the Caribbean away from crowds and all-inclusive resorts.
La Romana and the Chavón River
In the late afternoon, our catamaran gently resumes its course, skirting the picturesque coast of La Romana. This route offers privileged views of the region’s beach landscapes and historical sites tied to the sugar industry. You’ll pass near one of the country’s largest sugar refineries—a living witness to its colonial past and a key part of the local economy today. Our crew will also share stories about traditional Dominican rum production, the region’s famous cigars, and local life in the small fishing villages visible from the boat.
To end this exceptional day, we’ll cruise up the Chavón River, renowned for its tropical scenery and enchanting atmosphere. Surrounded by lush vegetation and natural cliffs, this river was featured in iconic films like Apocalypse Now and Jurassic Park. As we navigate along the water, you’ll dive into a world beyond time, where history, nature, and raw beauty blend together in one of the most stunning corners of the planet.
