Buggy Sunset from Bayahibe and Punta Cana
Experience a unique and immersive adventure with the Buggy Sunset excursion, a complete journey that takes you to the heart of the Dominican Republic, far from the beaten paths. From 1 PM to 9 PM, explore spectacular landscapes, meet the local population, and end your day on a traditional boat, gently rocked by the waters of the Chavón River at sunset.
🚜 First part: Buggy and Quad Adventure
The adventure begins aboard all-terrain buggies, heading towards the sugar cane fields. The first stop is the weighing of the cane, a fascinating moment to discover how it is harvested and weighed before being transported. You will have the opportunity to taste freshly cut sugar cane, while listening to your guide’s explanations about the importance of this crop in the Dominican Republic.
We then continue our journey to a batey, a typical village where sugar cane workers and their families live. This stop is a privileged moment to meet the locals and share a unique experience with the children, offering you a true immersion into local life. It will be a highlight, filled with exchanges and smiles with the village children. To make this encounter even more special, you can bring clothes you no longer use, old toys, or treats to distribute to the children. A simple gesture that will make all the difference and bring great joy!
After this beautiful encounter, it’s time to change rides: we leave the buggies to take quads, which will allow us to access even wilder and more preserved trails.
💦 Second part: Chavón River and local immersion
We take the road on a quad to reach the magnificent Chavón River. Here, it’s time to relax: you can swim and enjoy the fresh and soothing water of this river, surrounded by lush nature.
After this refreshing break, we continue to the home of a local resident, who will warmly welcome us. They will introduce us to typical Dominican products, such as cassava, plantain, and seasonal fruits… A moment of sharing and discovery around local flavors.
🌅 Sunset cruise on the Chavón River
At the end of the day, we leave our quads to board our safari truck, heading to the other side of the Chavón River.
There, a traditional boat awaits us for a peaceful cruise in an enchanting setting.

🌿 Tarzan jump, for thrill-seekers, swing from a vine directly into the water!
🍹 Aperitif on board, to enjoy the sunset over the river.
